Patrick Macnee – The Avengers

While Patrick Macnee has enjoyed a very successful career in film and television, he is best know for his role as John Steed in the popular British TV series, The Avengers, which aired from 1961 to 1969. From 1976 to 1977, Macnee played the same role in the revival of the series entitled, The New Avengers, in which he co-starred with Joanna Lumley (from the hit series Absolutely Fabulous).
Born in 1922, Macnee was nearly forty years old when The Avengers began, and he looked great. And, in fact, was still looking good in his fifties for The New Avengers.
