Daniel Auteuil – French Actor

December 6, 2011 in Sexy Older Men

While Daniel Auteuil is one of the most well-known actors in the French film industry, it was his role in Jean de Florette which brought him international recognition.  Born January 24, 1950, in Algiers, Algeria to Henri and Yvonne Auteuil — both opera singers — he currently has completed more than sixty (60) films.

Personally, I have had a crush on Daniel Auteuil since the first time I laid eyes on him.  He has such an interesting face with that crooked nose, and a beautiful smile (not demonstrated in this photo), and those deep, dark eyes.

One of my favorite roles played by Auteuil was that of Francois Pignon, in a film entitled, Le Placard (The Closet).  In this film, Auteuil plays the leading role of a man who spreads a rumor that he is gay in order to keep from being fired from his job.  Brilliant!

I will also recommend a couple of other films starring Auteuil.  They are:  Les Voleurs (Thieves), and Apres Vous… (After You…).

Jean Dujardin – OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies

You may have noticed by now my obsession with French men.  For as long as I can remember I’ve been attracted to La France; the language, the food, the culture, the musique, et surtout les hommes.

In 2006 Jean Dujardin starred as Hubert Bonisseur de La Bath, agent OSS 117, in the French film OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies.

OSS 117 is a sort of Pink Panther meets James Bond; hilarious, and great scenery.  There are numerous scenes with Dujardin in a bathing suit or half-dressed.  If you don’t speak French, you’ll probably have a tough time following the dialogue since your eyes will be glued to this super-sexy hunk.

Here are more films featuring Jean Dujardin:

  • 1997-2000: Nous C Nous
  • 1999-2003: Un gars, une fille
  • 2003: Bienvenue chez les Rozes
  • 2004: Les Dalton
  • 2005: Brice de Nice
  • 2006: OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies
  • 2006: Hellphone
  • 2007: 99 francs
  • 2007: Palizzi
  • 2008: Ca$h
  • 2009: A Man and His Dog
  • 2009: OSS 117: Lost in Rio
  • 2009: Lucky Luke (2009 film)
  • 2010: The Clink of Ice
  • 2010: Little White Lies
  • 2011: The Artist

Bernard Giraudeau – Water Drops on Burning Rocks (2000)

November 22, 2011 in Sexy Older Men

One of my favorite French actors is Bernard Giraudeau.  The first film that I can recall having seen him in was Water Drops on Burning Rocks — Gouttes d’eau sur pierres brûlantes (original title) – in which he plays a 50 year old man in love with a 20 year old boy in 1970s Germany.  While not my favorite movie, I did enjoy the subject matter.

Since then I’ve seen Giraudeau in several other films, one that was particularly bizarre, That Day — Ce jour-là (original title) – in which he plays psychopath.  This dark comedy was entered into the 2003 Cannes Film Festival.

Giraudeau was born June 18, 1947.  He died July 17, 2010 after having battled cancer for several years.
